Coursework
To earn the concentration in Law, Artificial Intelligence & Evolving Technologies and have it noted on your transcript, you must complete 12 credits of related coursework (as part of the required 88 credits required to earn a J.D.). A minimum of 6 credits must come from among the following “core” courses, and the remaining 6 credits may come from other core courses or from elective courses listed below. Courses may be added to or removed from each category from time to time.

Core Law, Artificial Intelligence and Evolving Technologies courses:
- Decentralization – Tech and Policy (3 credits)
- Disruptive Innovation in Law (2 or 3 credits)
- Coding for Lawyers (3 credits)
- Topics: AI and the Law (2 credits)
- Topics: Natural Language Lawyering (2 or 3 credits)
Law, Artificial Intelligence and Evolving Technologies elective courses:
- Patent Drafting Competition (2 credits)
- Information Privacy and Data Protection (3 credits)
- Representing Entrepreneurs (2 credits)
- Intellectual Property (3 credits)
- Patent Law (2 or 3 credits)
- Moot Court Patent Advocacy Team (3 credits)
- Supervised Research and Writing (1 or 2 credits; papers on subjects relating to law/AI/tech)
- Topics: Food, Drug, & Medical Device Regulation (3 credits)
- Topics: Patent Prosecution (2 credits; alternate years only)
