Annual Employment Outcomes
The Office of Career and Professional Development captures employment data from its recent graduates through employment surveys and personal outreach. The 92.5% employment rate for the class of 2023 counts only “gold standard” positions that are full-time, long-term and either require a law license or where having a J.D. provides a significant advantage to performing or obtaining the role. Some law schools include other professional or non-professional jobs, as well as short-term, part-time, and delayed-start positions in their employment rate. We do not include such positions in our employment rate because we believe our students enter law school with the intent of pursuing full-time gold standard positions.
Information from the annual survey is used to report to various agencies, including the American Bar Association (ABA), National Association of Legal Career Professionals (NALP), and the U.S. News & World Report (USNWR).
Information on employment outcomes for the Class of 2020 may not reflect a particular law school’s typical results in this area. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, bar admission exams were canceled or delayed in many jurisdictions, thus making it more challenging for graduates to secure employment by the annual Graduate Employment Status Date of March 15. Please reference the 3 years of employment outcome data posted on the ABA Required Disclosures webpage of each ABA-Approved Law School or on the ABA's website.
